Cultural Studies graduate. Passionate about Japanese high-arts, literature and cinema (it used to be good). I never read travelling blogs. My first contact with the arts happened in 1990, Paris, in the garden of Claude Monet, quickly replaced by literature of Poe, Lovecraft and Murakami Ryu (no, not the Murakami you've read!) Don't ask me why I went to Japan, or what made me learn the language. Escapism, Romanticism and boredom are more realistic answers than loving Sushi or Manga.
